Tweak Your Myspace Profile Layout To Get More Friend Requests

THIS ARTICLE WAS TAKEN AND EDIT FROM TRIPONIC.COM’S TUTORIAL, DUE CREDIT GOES TO HIM.

A mistake I have seen many newcomers make is creating a poorly presentable profile, you may think the profile plays no role in how many friends accept your request but it does…There is a few things you should keep in mind when choosing a layout to use and writing about yourself.

  • Don’t appear to be what you are. – What does this mean?

When someone goes to your profile and see’s you have 2,000+ friends, plus all types of referal codes/images around the place and big bald letters in your ‘About Me’ that say “COMMENT ME!, ADD ME!, COMMENT MY PICTURESSS!!” not to mention all the spam/image comments, the first thing that will come to mind is, “great…another random friend I can accept that will only leave short superficial messages/comments and just wants me for another number on his friends list!”.

Your Solution:

  1. Make your profile private. – If they can’t see your profile they can’t know if your someone they’ve met or just another random…and by the time they add you it will be too late and most users are too lazy to hunt you down on their friends list to delete you.
  2. Choose a normal display picture. – Don’t use the picture of a celebrity or the box of Viagra you plan to try and sell them…use something normal and casual that will blend in with the rest of friend requests.
  3. Use a proper display name. – The same as above…nothing that stands out and makes you look like a spammer/friend whore, choose something normal and try and stay away from the 2.9k ect.. tags (see Mypsace Whoring Slang/Acronyms article).
  4. Hide your friends. – There is many profile codes out there that will help you “masking” a few things on your myspace profile, below I have posted some of them.

Choose the codes you need from below and paste them at the bottom of your ‘About Me’ section, then save,

Hide Friends and the ‘View All’ Link

<style type=”text/css”>.friendSpace { display:none; }</style><br><br><a href=”http://www.myspaceguru.wordpress.com&#8221; target=”_blank” title=”Myspace Guru”><b>Want to learn how to get thousands of Myspace friends?</b></a>

Hide Friends, but Keep the ‘View All’ Link

<style type=”text/css”>.friendSpace tr td.text table tr td table tr td table tr td a { display: none; } .friendSpace tr td.text table tr td table tr td { display: none; } .friendSpace tr td.text table tr td span { display: none; }</style><br><br><a href=”http://www.myspaceguru.wordpress.com&#8221; target=”_blank” title=”Myspace Guru”><b>Want to learn how to get thousands of Myspace friends?</b></a>

Hide the Entire Comment Section and Links

<style>.a {MySpaceGens.com – hide your comments} .friendsComments {display:none;}</style><br><br><a href=”http://www.myspaceguru.wordpress.com&#8221; target=”_blank” title=”Myspace Guru”><b>Want to learn how to get thousands of Myspace friends?</b></a>

Hide Comments, but Keep ‘View All/Add’ Links (paste at the bottom of the ‘Who I’d Like to Meet’ section)

<style>.FriendsComments table table { display:none; } .friendsComments td { height:0px; } .FriendsComments td { background-color:transparent; } .FriendsComments td td b a { display:inline; }</style><br><br><a href=”http://www.myspaceguru.wordpress.com&#8221; target=”_blank” title=”Myspace Guru”><b>Want to learn how to get thousands of Myspace friends?</b></a>

Hide Last Login Date (paste this in the ‘Headline’ section)

“<font style=”display:none;”>

  • Don’t make your profile look like your selling something. – If someone arrives to your page and immediately see’s links and pictures to something your selling, they’re going to use the ‘Spam’ button of the friend request and that will eventually get you deleted.
